With typically no more than 8 students per class, there will be plenty of opportunity for you to receive one on one instruction from Mike and Andy.

You will gain access to the teaching philosophy that has resulted in many PGA TOUR wins by Mike and Andy’s clients.

Mike and Andy have devised the system they teach, not just by studying how the professionals hit the ball, but by applying the rules of science.

They have found evidence of these principles in the best players, past and present. They use a vast database of photos of these players to help you understand what you need to work on in your own swing.

You will receive detailed explanation of the Stack and Tilt® system, based upon years of painstaking research into what the fundamentals of the golf swing really are and will see Mike demonstrate all the elements of creating the exact ball flight he wants- every time!

Using the most advanced cameras and swing analysis software available, Mike and Andy will analyze your swing and give you precise direction-using slow motion and stop action video. You will take home with you copies to use in your practice sessions. You can also send a video or set of photos back to Mike and Andy of one of your follow-up practice sessions for further analysis.

No where else can you get this level of one-on-one instruction from some of the best instructors on TOUR for such a reasonable price.

#1 I would like to congratulate my good friends, Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer for reaching a milestone by being inducted into Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers. This, I’m my opinion, is long over due, but none less, they are inducted. I know I can speak for everyone in our Stack & Tilt® Worldwide Camp, when I say “YES” and “CONGRATULATIONS!. We are all incredibly proud to be affiliated with 2 of the finest, smartest, and just darn good people that Mike and Andy are.

With that being said, I would like to take a moment and reflect on some comments being made by an esteemed Top 100 teacher, who is rapidly going down a slippery slope, by consistently bashing others and tooting his own horn when finished. I won’t name names, out of professionalism, however, anyone reading this will know whom I am speaking of and will in fact use some of the quotes from the blog, to prove a point.

In my opinion, I believe that teachers who have been given the privilege of being selected as a top 100 teacher on any publicly recognized list should hold that honor in the highest regard and set an example to others in their field, by holding themselves accountable for providing their best information available, with a presentation, not confrontation, with facts backing up statements and when opinions are being presented, they should be stated as just that, with out any misleading or misguidance of what is said, meant or inferred. These lists give a professional a platform to set the bar high for success and achievement while also being a symbol of inspiration for others who wish to achieve and accomplish similar aspirations. Facebook, Twitter, and the internet make it extraordinarily easy to put ourselves out there for the world to see. We are living in the world of technology, Reality TV and opinions, but it seems to me that it would be nice to have more humble, grateful men and women setting the example for their peers and youngsters. Preserving the integrity of our great game should truly not be overlooked, demonstrating by our actions, that learning is a process. Mistakes will be made, but learning from them and how we handle them will be our choice. At the end of the day, you will be remembered for the kind of person you are and what you stand for, how you handle your successes and your failures, there is no greater honor.

Those who are in the top of their field, in my opinion, should look at themselves as role models for younger men and women coming up in the ranks and aspiring to be the best. As the top people in our field, what are you doing to mentor others to be their best?

So, now I will be the girl that I am and include some inspirational movie clips, that have always made me think more. Here is one from the movie “Facing the Giants”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_wyBftd8gk&feature=fvst

What do you think of this clip? I think this a great example of changing belief barriers and becoming the Leader that we are meant to be. Helping others grow, and expand their knowledge, so they can be their best in all aspect of their life. Isn’t that was this is all about? Don’t we talk about how Golf mirrors life?

In the past 10 years, technology has rapidly changed and affected our industry, between ball flights being newly defined, 3D description of the swing (thanks to Mike and Andy) Trackman validating them, AMM, GASP Force Plates, and Pro-tracer, Aimpoint, etc.. Some of us have found about what we believed to be true, was in fact not. We have had to learn to be OPEN MINDED to knew information…The goal in the end is to help our students play better, make changes quickly, sustain the changes and HAVE FUN! That will ultimately grow the game of golf as well as ourselves!

As golf professionals we must Adapt or Die! Here’s another great clip from another movie favorite.

Moneyball http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUC08_gki2w&feature=relmfu

Most of talk in our circles and forums about how humbling this game can be. That doesn’t mean its only from a playing standpoint. We can be humbled by new information, cliches or finding out we were just incorrect in our belief. That doesn’t make any of us bad people, we are all human after all. Its how we choose to use the situation put before us, that becomes the challenge of a potential turning point. Premier athletes at the top of their games in every other sport, are always commenting about how they are learning something new. Why would we be any different? Why shouldn’t we be striving to learn and push the envelope as instructors and leaders, even if your not sure about it. Keep exploring, learning, and listening, before you make or pass a judgement. Don’t pass by something because its new or different or isn’t how you currently view it. Simply, ask a question and wait for a response. You just might be surprised

By know you are thinking, Land the Plane, so I am descending and will land very soon Promise.

Being at the top means you have to take egg on your face sometimes and get criticized a lot, questioned and even ridiculed. Its not for the faint of heart, there is no truer fact. However, its how you handle your self when you are challenged, that an opportunity does arise, for you to rise to the top, or free fall off the cliff. Your example in your actions, gives hope to all of us watching that being exceptional at what you do and how you act, means something, and HELLO! it should! They/we should be held accountable for our actions, when your wrong, your wrong, just say I was wrong.

We had a TV announcer recently who came out with explaining ball flight laws correctly, for the first time ever! Which was awesome! Why wasn’t there a conversation about how he came about to understand, what is correct? Isn’t that how we grow? Wouldn’t that be a beneficial discussion on the golf channel?

When comments are made by top 100 teachers, like this one: “Sadly, there are a vast number of uninformed, or rigid thinking teachers putting out golf information that might work for 1 in 100 golfers (that’s being generous).”

This is a dangerous place to be sitting, in my view. How do you know what works and what doesn’t, for those teachers that you are specking of? How did you measure that? How did you come to that statement? Believe me, I know there are crazies out there, but I’m not randomly bashing them… just because I’m scared.

Moneyball again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiB9L3dG-Aw&feature=related

I found this quote very troubling: “Sometimes a teacher has gleaned onto some detailed, complex method and is out to prove all the things that you “must do” in your swing. I think most of you realize that teaching a method is the easy way out for a lazy teacher. Why? They just learn one way to teach everybody. It’s the same lesson over and over. Some teachers have gotten really good at this, and some methods are much better than others. It’s one way or the highway teaching.”

Again, this is a statement made is an OPINION, there are no facts involved in this statement and certainly no research on those METHOD swings, Oh not too mention the X Factor is a method, apparently, for a lazy teacher….

So, the conclusion of this particular message bothered me immensely,

“The presenter will not have done their homework. They see something they read that sounds good, or used a few tour pros as models, then surmise this is what “they all do”. It’s pathetic research. It’s crazy how fanatical I see some of these professionals. I know most are sincere, but I’m telling you most are dead wrong and dangerous to your game. BEWARE OF THE INTERNET PSYCHO LESSONSLearn More about Schools and Lessons at Doral in Miami by clicking here.”

I found this particularly un-nerving, because my interpretation of this is, everyone else stinks and I’m great, and I don’t really have to tell you why. Not to mention, its just a sad attitude.

That is upsetting to me because, what message does this send to a golfer? They aren’t really very important, we just want your money. That is sad, and I believe a dis-service to all golf professionals striving to be at the top of their field.

I will leave you with 2 things. #1 The Golden Rule – Treat others like YOU would like to be treated. – You’ll never go wrong with that.

and (yes a clip)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjf1O4jMqeM&feature=fvsr

I hope my message makes sense.

All the best,

Lainey

p.s… Just keep swimming

Last month in August, we held a golf school at Trump Colts Neck. Donald Trump stopped by, and after some observation, in typicalDonald Trump fashion asked “what is Stack & Tilt?, I’ve heard a lot about it, what is it? My answer was, Stack & Tilt is a system for playing golf built around a 3 dimensional description of the swing.

How does it work? In a rapid fire succession….. Well, it’s a centered shoulder turn, where the hands trace an arc, basically…. I responded. Is it a steeper shoulder turn?, he asked. That depends on your perspective, I said. It’s a right angle to the amount that the golfer is tilted forward. I’ve heard a lot about it he continued….I was surprised to find out he is a 1 hdcp with a passion for tournament golf. This should come as no surprise, given his involvement in the LPGA Championship at his flagship property in Palm Beach, FL.

Reflecting on our encounter, I found him engaging and surprisingly knowledgable about golf for being the business type. His questions reminded me that we still have some work to do in explaining the 3 dimensional description of the swing to the masses and its importance to the interpretation to the game, as well as, the value of a system that is broad enough for all golfers to fit into, from the novice to expert player.

Keep the spirit of the Game Alive,

Andy

#2 – He has no rolling in his hands or forearms. This allows for the club to stay square to the arc of the swing so the start line of the balls is very consistent.

#3 – The sliding and extending of the hips and spine allow the body to keep turning which helps slow down the clubface rotation through the ball.

Use the punch shot drill for practice to learn to swing more like Zach.

Set up to the ball, favor your weight forward to help with hitting the ground in the same place, make half swings and keep your arms straight with a short follow through.
